You all know I’m a big fans of web hosting GUI cPanel. Following up on my previous post: Are you happy with cPanel at HostMonster? I would like to talk about the advantages of this web hosting control panel.
CPanel is a graphical web hosting control panel that makes the website administration so simple and easy. It runs on Linux based systems, and provides users with efficient working with no loss of time. CPanel is accessed via 2082 and 2083 ports using HTTP or web page login.
Its use is increasing day by day, making it the most popular hosting panel through out the world, but why? Definitely it provides the best service that users need. Why CPanel is the choice of most of the web hosting companies has many answers, depending on individual user’s choice, but in general they are:
- CPanel provides easy to use interface.
- The front end simplifies various operations, including, mail, FTP accounts, Web Stats, Backups, Sub domain configuration etc.
- It supports Fantastico, that offers bundle of free and ready made scripts for users and hence much of the support’s burden from hosting company’s end reduces.
- CPanel keeps Apache, PHP, and MySQL etc up to date.
- Supports WHM [Web Host Manager] making the web hosting too easy, and best suitable for people with too many sites.

I am sure you are tired checking out dozens of web hosts accross the web, jotting down notes on their features and pricing. Well let me help you up here – check out the list below for the pricing and hoting features for reputated web hosting companies.
Which web host do I recommend?
Beside Hostmonster; Hostgator, Bluehost, and Lunarpages. Pricing is an important consideration when it comes to picking up the right web host but bare in mind that it is NOT THE ONLY consideration point. The quality of customer support, hosting features, server stability, etc etc should be as well in your check list.

Not long ago Hostmonster had upgraded their hosting plan to unlimited storage space/bandwidth/addon domains – enabling Hostmonster clients to host unlimited website with just one hosting account. The promotion campaign was quite a success as we are seeing more and more signups at Hostmonster.

Nevertheless, the unlimited storage and bandwidth offer does not reflects the full picture of Hostmonster’s promo. What most customers did not notice in Hostmonster’s offer is that they are offering quite some free credits in web marketing/advertising at Yahoo!, Google, and Miva. As long as you’re a new signup (regardless of new/old domain transfer), you’ll get this free marketing credit from Hostmonster – that’s %50 for each one of Yahoo!, Google, and Miva.

To activate your free coupon (on Google or Yahoo!), simply click on the icons showed and you’ll get all things done following the system guidance.

Seems like it’s not only me who’re reviewing HostMonster via running a website on the web host. HostmonsterReview.org is doing the samething in the sametime. Well, it’s definitely useful to have another voice on HostMonster reviews. In fact you’re very much recommended to search around the Internet before making any purchase decision.
As for your reference, this is what mentioned about HostMonster’s server uptime recently at HostmonsterReview.org:
For the month of april 2008, the hostmonster uptime recorded as 99.93% over the Internet. Which is above the service uptime guarantee of 99.9%. There are some problem/downtime at early of the month, but quickly solved and there is no downtime for the rest of the month.
Hostmonster server speed test and response time was recorded as 0.243 second. A very fast response server.. means the server is not crowded and with low server load. This also indicates a good quality hosting servers.
An image speaks a thousand words, the statement of the blogpost are also shown in graphical:

So hey, what do you think? Sounds like a positive sign for Hostmonster? You bet!

HostMonster server (the one hostmonstersecretrevealed.com hosted) was down yesterday evening due to power failure. However it was nothing serious as they were able to shut down server using backup power and restore the services lighting speed.
Everything’s just fine as normal now.
A quick notification email was sent to me when the incident happened – credit to their honesty and sense of responsible in HostMonster.

Due to a catastrophic power failure, some HostMonster servers are currently without power. hostmonstersecretrevealed.com is currently hosted on one of these servers. Rocky Mountain Power is working to replace hardware as quickly as possible. The current ETA from Rocky Mountain Power is 7:30pm MST. This outage is affecting most of Orem, Utah making it a top priority.
The outage occurred approximately 5pm MST. We were able to prevent data loss as the server you are on was safely shut down under backup power. We apologize for any inconvenience and will have your service restored as quickly as possible.

Sometimes, a server outage is out of the web host’s control (such as power outage) – the good thing with the incident is that they (HostMonster) are responding lighting fast and more over, being honest and responsible to their customers.
